Satan is the deceiver who attacks our minds with lies. 

John 8:44 ESV
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

HOW DID THE DEVIL LIE TO EVE?


1. THE DECEIVER QUESTIONED GOD'S WORD.

Genesis 3:1 ESV
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'?"

When you start to question the goodness of God, it's easier to disobey the will of God. 


2. THE DECEIVER TWISTED GOD'S WORD.

Genesis 3:4-5 ESV
But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.  For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
